Wheels4Hope > FROM DONOR TO RECIPIENT.

The Fishers of Raleigh donated a very nice Honda Accord. Why did they donate? "We wanted to give back to our community."

Wheels4Hope > Premium Imports is one of our major outside repair shops. The shop did a thorough evaluation of the Fishers' car with a view to providing good long-term reliability for the eventual recipient. Among the repairs were new belts, front axles, a water pump, and a valve cover gasket. Here, Cathy Hofmann, co-owner of Premium Imports, consults with technician Nick Cheek.

In a very tangible way, the Carlsons and our other donors are helping to make the Triangle area a better place to live. Wheels4Hope > "Betty Farber (real name withheld) used to pay people to drive her back to Raleigh when she finished her job in a Garner restaurant around midnight. Public Transportation isn't available in the small hours of the night. But two weeks ago, she bought a 1991 Ford Thunderbird [from Wheels4Hope]. Suddenly her options are wide open. 'It has helped me just to be able to get back home . . . But hopefully it will help me find some other employment - - maybe in the Research Triangle Park .' Wheels4Hope > The actual placement of a car is a very special event, with lots of smiles and good wishes all around. Typically the placement ceremony includes the recipient, volunteers who have worked on the car, representatives of the agency sponsoring the recipient, and friends and family.
